National Recycle Week 2009
22-28 June 2009

A little goes a long way and you can see how by taking part in this year’s National Recycle Week themed Let’s Waste Less.

To celebrate National Recycle Week, we are daring you to take part in the ‘How Low Can You Go?’ team challenge.

Taking part in the one day team challenge is straightforward, it just requires a willingness to have fun and in return you will be doing your bit for the environment by shrinking your rubbish at home, your workplace or your club.

You can do this by taking some simple steps to change your everyday habits such as using re-sealable, reusable containers for lunch, reusing water bottles and sharing your newspapers and magazines.

You can set up a team (max 10 members) with family, friends, colleagues or members of your local community group (sports clubs, mother and baby groups or scouts/guides).

Once your team is ready for the challenge, all we ask is that you reduce your everyday rubbish following our helpful tips which can be found on our website: www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/nationalrecycleweek.

There is no need to weigh or measure your rubbish on the day, we will simply ask you for your team’s most successful rubbish reducing tip which we will share on our website after National Recycle Week.

By getting involved and sharing your tips you will be automatically entered into our prize draw to win a fabulous food hamper.

So give your bin the day off, register your details using our online form and we will send you some handy rubbish reducing tips.

How about you?
